This weekend is a great opportunity to buy and sell your discount skiing and snowboarding gear.
Bogus Basin’s 75th Annual Ski Swap is happening at Expo Idaho from Friday, October 30, to Sunday, November 1.
Sell gear
For those wanting to sell gear — skis, snowboards, nordic, telemark, boots, clothing, and snowshoes will be accepted. Sunglasses, baseball hats, T-shirts, or street shoes will not.
Sellers can register their items online and then drop them off at Expo Idaho during the following times:
- Thursday, Oct. 29: noon – 8 p.m.
- Friday, Oct. 30: 10 a.m. – 9 p.m.
- Saturday, Oct. 31: 10 a.m. – noon.
At drop-off, volunteers will tag your items and set them up for display. If they sell, Bogus Basin will take a 25% commission and mail you a check for the remaining 75% by December 1. Unsold items must be picked up between 4 and 6 p.m. on Sunday.
Shop gear
Shoppers wanting to buy gear can hit the Ski Swap during the following times:
- Friday, Oct. 30, 10 a.m. – 10 p.m.
- Saturday, Oct. 31, 10 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.
- Sunday, Nov. 1, 10 a.m. – 3 p.m.
Admission is $5 on Friday and Saturday and free on Sunday with two canned food donations (proceeds go to the Boise Rescue Mission). Children 12 and under are free throughout the weekend.
Along with a great shopping event, the Ski Swap is also a major fundraiser for the Bogus Basin Ski Education Foundation, which seeks to provide access to competitive mountain sports programs for the youth of the Treasure Valley. You can learn more about BBSEF here.
