Treasure Valley Mayors to Share Progress and Priorities at State of the City Addresses
Annual addresses give insight into decisions shaping our communities

TREASURE VALLEY — Mayors across the Treasure Valley are preparing to deliver their annual State of the City addresses, giving residents a look at where their communities stand today, the challenges they face, and the priorities shaping the year ahead.

Several members of the Treasure Valley Partnership (TVP) will hold State of the City events in the coming months. While each community has its own priorities and challenges, TVP leaders say the addresses share an important purpose: giving residents an opportunity to hear directly from local elected officials about how their cities are evolving and how local government is responding.

For TVP members, the events also underscore the importance of local leadership. Cities and counties across the Treasure Valley share many of the same pressures – including rapid growth, increasing demands on public safety, congested roads, infrastructure needs, and rising costs – but how those challenges affect each community can be very different.

That’s one reason TVP has consistently advocated for local control and for elected officials to make decisions that reflect the needs of the communities they serve.

Upcoming State of the City addresses:

Tuesday, October 13 – Star
Mayor Trevor A. Chadwick
Ribbon cutting at 6 p.m. – address begins at 7 p.m.
Liberty Hall, 960 S. Main St.
The event will also mark the grand opening of Star’s new Liberty Hall city event space.

Thursday, October 22 – Nampa

* Mayor Tim O’Meara and Middleton School Superintendent Marc Gee will gather with other local elected officials, school district leadership, city councilmembers, state representatives, local agencies, city staff, and community partners for a relaxed, open-house-style event.

Residents are encouraged to attend their community’s State of the City address or community gathering to learn more about the work underway, the challenges ahead, and opportunities to stay involved.
