DK Constructors is a commercial construction company built on a willingness to tackle projects of any size in Idaho and eastern Oregon.
The company was founded in Star in 2021 and has since completed more than 400 projects, with 92% growth between 2022 and 2025. DK’s “any size” approach grew from co-owner Dustin Keyes’ decade of experience as a large construction company, where he saw how smaller projects can be overlooked.
“We were seeing a lot of the small jobs, and the small jobs ended up leading into two, three, four other jobs, but sometimes their priority level for those types of projects wasn’t there,” Keyes said. “We saw a need in the market.”
DK’s portfolio of completed work ranges from dog park bars and indoor sandbox facilities to roof repairs and parking lot maintenance. The company is a full-service general contractor that manages the construction process from beginning to end.
The company started with just one intern but now has nine full-time employees, one part-time employee, and two interns. An office is currently being built to transition the company from remote work to a central base – a move Keyes believes will enhance DK’s can-do culture.
“There’s really no hierarchy as far as positions go. Everybody works together, and we kind of just work on whatever the task at hand needs to get done,” he said. “If I’ve got to go out there with a shovel and a broom, I’ll gladly do that, and everybody else on the team does the same thing.”
