Addy MacArthur Gears Up for U20 World Championships
BOISE, Idaho – Boise State Track & Field thrower Addy MacArthur will represent Team USA in the shot put at the 2026 World Athletics U20 Championships on Thursday, Aug. 6.
MacArthur qualified for the U20 World Championships after recording a second-place finish at the 2026 USATF U20 Outdoor Championships with a 15.35 meter mark, her personal best. The top eight finishers qualify for a position on Team USA.
MacArthur is the first Bronco to compete in the event since Anita Taviore represented Nigeria in the 4×100 meter relay in 2021. She is the first Boise State student-athlete to represent Team USA since Emily Venters competed in the 5,000 meter race in 2018, claiming a ninth-place finish.
During Boise State’s outdoor season, MacArthur finished in fourth at the 2026 Mountain West Outdoor Track & Field Championships in shot put with a throw of 14.73 meters. She also finished in sixth in the discus with a throw of 50.05 meters.
SCHEDULE: MacArthur will compete in the qualifying round at 11 a.m. MT on Thursday. If she advances, the final will begin that night at 8:40 p.m. MT.
