Opportunity should be within reach for everyone who calls Boise home. As our city grows, we’re working to ensure that growth creates more pathways to good jobs, supports local businesses, and strengthens our neighborhoods.
This week brought several examples of that work in action. Alongside our partners at the Boise Metro Chamber, we celebrated the ribbon cutting of a new occupational health services facility in southeast Boise. We also welcomed the opening of the Western States Carpenters Training Facility, an investment that will help prepare the skilled workforce our region needs for the future.
We’re also celebrating a $5.6 million federal grant to advance the Lake Hazel Road extension. This funding moves the project closer to construction, helping connect southwest Boise residents to future jobs, improve mobility, and support growth in one of our fastest-growing parts of town.
These milestones are just a few examples of what’s possible when we strategically invest in people, infrastructure, and strong partnerships. Every new training opportunity, business investment, and infrastructure project helps build a stronger, more connected Boise.
This growth isn’t just good for our economy—it’s good for our people. Entrepreneurs are making their dreams a reality by opening new storefronts, our kids are finding jobs right here at home after they graduate, and small businesses are becoming pockets of possibility and connection in every corner of town. And while Boise grows, we’re making sure we preserve what has always made this city special: strong neighborhoods, precious open space, and welcoming residents who look out for one another.
I’m proud of what we’re accomplishing, and I promise to continue listening to residents and business owners to stay connected to the needs of our community as we grow together. By preparing our workforce, improving the infrastructure that supports future jobs, and creating opportunity in every part of our city, we’re building a Boise where everyone has the chance to thrive.
