The Idaho National Guard announced the 13th Annual Return of the Boise Valley People event, which begins with a welcoming ceremony on Thursday, June 13, at 7 p.m. at Boise City Hall Plaza.
The welcoming ceremony will include remarks from Tribal leaders, Boise Mayor Lauren McLean and the Commanding General of the Idaho Air National Guard Brig. Gen. Tim Donnellan speaking on the front steps of Boise City Hall.
CBS2 reports on Friday, June 14, the public is also invited to share in the culture of the original Boise Valley people from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Eagle Rock Park, which will include demonstrations and cultural classes throughout the day.
Eagle Rock Park is a spiritual gathering place for Tribal people who return to offer prayers for ancestors buried at the site.
On Saturday, June 15, at 2 p.m. on Gowen Field, the Idaho National Guard will dedicate a sports complex to the Tribes.
