Emmett single vehicle crash kills driver

Idaho State Police are investigating a single-vehicle crash that occurred at the East 12th Street and South Substation Road intersection in Emmett on Wednesday, April 10, at approximately 10:03 p.m.

The road was closed due to construction on the Substation Road and Highway 16 intersection.

CBS2 reports a Subaru Legacy, driven by a 41-year-old male from Idaho Falls, bypassed the posted road closure signs.

The driver continued north on Substation Road.

The vehicle crashed into a large pile of dirt at the Substation Road and East 12th Street intersection, where the vehicle came to a rest on the driver’s side.

The driver was transported via air ambulance to a nearby hospital and died from his injuries.

The driver was not wearing a seatbelt.

This crash is still under investigation by Idaho State Police.
