Stage One Fire Restrictions come to an end on Friday in Idaho

Effective Friday, (at 12:01 a.m.), Stage One Fire Restrictions will be removed for federal, state, state endowment, private forest land and rangelands in three Fire Restriction Zones of Southwest Idaho.

Those are…the Owyhee Mountains, the Treasure Valley and the West Central Mountains.

Lifting the restrictions means the public is free to build a campfire, use a charcoal barbecue, or smoke outside of designated campgrounds and recreation sites.

However, fire managers would like to remind the public that the accidental start of a wildfire can still be devastating, so be alert and aware.
