New COVID-19 cases in Idaho have increased significantly

This 3 day holiday weekend saw a huge increase in new COVID-19 cases in Idaho.

On Friday we added 401 new cases, on Saturday 376, and on Sunday 363.

The Gem state now has 7,733 total cases and 93 deaths.

Last week, Ada County was once again the hot spot for new cases in Idaho with a total of 672 new cases. Canyon County was close behind with 549 new cases.

This week, Ada County starts the week with 168 new cases and Canyon County starts with 92.

The 18-29 age group continues to be largest infected group with a total of 2,763 cases. On Friday, this age group added 163 new cases, on Saturday 165, and on Sunday 151.

Over the three day weekend 36 more of our healthcare workers tested positive for COVID-19, for a total of 570.
