Boise man accused of firing a gun during an argument

A Boise man is accused of firing a gun during an argument and acting physically violent toward the same victim on two separate days, according to police.

24-year-old Ismail Abdirahman was arrested Wednesday and charged with two felony counts of aggravated assault and one felony enhancement for using a deadly weapon in the commission of a felony.

CBS2 reports Boise Police Department officers responded to a dispute call at 2 a.m. Wednesday morning near Albion Street. Officers found a victim in the parking lot of an apartment building.

BPD said evidence showed a man had been physically violent to the woman in an apartment before officers arrived. Police also said the suspect had “brandished a gun” in a threatening manner, which made the woman fear for her life, and fired it inside the apartment.

Further investigation found Abdirahman had been violent with the same victim on Tuesday while in a vehicle, according to BPD. In that incident he reportedly fired the gun into the center console, causing the woman to fear for her life.

The victim and suspect know each other. The investigation is ongoing and more charges are pending.

The victim was treated for minor injuries.
