BPD Wants You to Join the “Thin Blue Line”

Boise (670 KBOI News) – If you feel a calling to serve your city, the BPD wants to talk with you…and maybe make you one of their own.

Captain Brian Lee says they’re looking to start a new class of recruits this fall, at the BPD’s very own training academy.

“We have our own in-house academy now,” said Lee.  “It allows us to bring people on at certain times throughout the year, and not have to wait for slots (at the state POST Academy), and also, tailor that training to what we’re looking for within the police department.  So it’s about a 22-week academy, depending on where holidays fall.  So we can get all the required, and some of our extra training, in that time period.”

There are no age requirements, but there are physical fitness and education standards to be met, and background checks that have to be done.
