I love you Mom!

In writing this, I realize my Mom has had an amazing journey.

Growing up in the 30’s & 40’s, and wanting to become a Catholic nun. Changing her mind, finding herself wanting a family and career.

Meeting my Dad. Dating him from 1962 to 1972. Marrying my Dad. Having me. Going to nursing school. Getting her RN. Practicing a variety of nursing skills from pediatric to geriatric and everywhere in-between.

Teaching medical terminology to college students.

All while being a supportive wife and raising me.

I was raised in a house of love. While so many had dysfunction, I had stability. I had someone who didn’t tolerate excuses, who exemplified strength, who taught me determination.

She has the most amazing hugs. She could cook anything you ever imagined and it tasted the best. She was artistic and creative. She was the most loving Mom a kid could ever wish for.

She was the loudest in the crowd.

She could fish, play cards, watch football, ice skate. She was amazing.

I love you Mom. Thank you for being so patient. Thank you for me,
