Pioneer Fire continues to grow and is currently the 2nd largest fire in the nation, now at over 63,362 acres and is just 25 percent contained.
Homes in Lowman continue to be a priority. Highway 21 from Idaho City to Lowman remains closed, and other roads are effected.

Spokesman Jerry Rohnert says,” Highway 21 from Stanley to Lowman is open but with pilot cars and of course County Highway 17 out of Garden Valley to Lowman is closed due to down power lines and falling rock.”

He says communities of Idaho City and Garden Valley remain open for business even with some road closures.

Level 2 evacuations are set for Lowman, meaning residents should be prepared to move.
