CBS2 reports that according to a statement released by the Idaho GOP, campaign signs urging voters to reject Proposition 1, the Ranked Choice Voting initiative, have reportedly been vandalized in the Meridian and Eagle areas.
Ranked Choice Voting, also labeled the “Open Primaries” initiative has been a hot-button issue in Idaho politics ahead of the November elections.
Proponents argue that Ranked Choice Voting makes our democracy more equitable and gives voters more choices in the ballot box.
Opponents argue that Ranked Choice Voting makes voting complex and confusing.
The Idaho GOP is offering a $5,000 reward for the arrest and conviction of anyone involved in the vandalism of election signs.
