The search for a kayaker that was reported missing along the Boise River on Monday is still ongoing.

Boise Fire supported by Boise Police began search and rescue efforts along the Boise River and the greenbelt.

CBS2 reports that after several hours an inflatable kayak was recovered, but no signs of the kayaker could be found.

The search was eventually suspended and efforts were transitioned to a recovery.

A spokesperson for the Ada County Sheriff’s Office, who is handling the recovery search, says that recovery efforts are still ongoing but with the water flowing this quickly their options are limited.

The kayaker has not been publicly identified, as no body has been recovered.

The high and fast rate of flow down the Boise River makes search efforts very difficult and dangerous, limiting most options until either the river flow slows down or a report comes in.
