State of Idaho responds to Planned Parenthood lawsuit over trigger law

The state of Idaho has, not surprisingly, objected to Planned Parenthood’s lawsuit against the state for its trigger law after the recent Supreme Court decision on Roe v. Wade.

Planned Parenthood Northwest is trying to block the state’s trigger law that’s set to take effect in about a month.

If it does, a doctor in Idaho would be committing a felony by performing an abortion unless the mother’s life was at risk, or in the cases of rape or incest.

The earliest it could go into effect is Aug. 18. Planned Parenthood wants the case fast-tracked to be heard before then and the law pushed until there’s a ruling.
