State of Idaho reports record number of coronavirus deaths in a single day

Idaho health officials are reporting a record number of coronavirus deaths in a single day.

The state reported 55 new deaths — but 30 of them, the Idaho Department of Health and Welfare says, were Idahoans sick with COVID-19 but who ended up dying in another state.

There were also some reporting delays of some in-state deaths.

On the case count front, Idaho added an additional 1,315 confirmed and probable cases on Wednesday.

The latest hospitalization data provided by the state shows 678 people currently hospitalized along with 173 in an intensive care unit.
