Boise nursing home closure

A Boise nursing home will close next month after inspections found operating deficiencies that sometimes harmed patients.

Residents and staff of the nonprofit Good Samaritan Society-Boise Village, located off West State Street on Sycamore Drive, were told that the federal Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services had terminated its contract and as of May 20 would no longer reimburse the 127-bed home for services.

The Idaho Statesman reports, in an undated termination letter which they obtained, six areas were listed where the agency said the nursing home failed to comply with program requirements.

Those dealt with quality of care, nursing services, resident assessments, administration, infection control and comprehensive care plans.

Good Samaritan has provided skilled nursing care and rehabilitation services for 64 years.
