No school Tuesday October 20th in West Ada School District

The West Ada School District has posted on their website that there will be NO School, ALL grades, ALL Schools on Tuesday, October 20th.

This includes students who would have come in-person, all students enrolled in Virtual School House, and students who would have been learning remotely.

Today hundreds of  West Ada School District teachers requested a sick day for Tuesday, October 20th, in protest of the district board’s decision to continue in a hybrid model despite Ada County’s move into Central District Health’s “red” category, its most severe designation of coronavirus case spread.

The district said they are unable to safely hold school Tuesday due to supervision concerns.

West Ada District Administration said they are continuing to work with the West Ada Education Association to find solutions to their concerns so they can hold school Wednesday.

A handful of teachers and parents posted pictures in red shirts to social media this morning, using the hash-tag #RedMeansRemote as a message of support for teachers in the West Ada school district.
