An Eagle man has been arrested, accused of assaulting an elderly couple along the Greenbelt earlier this week.
The Ada County Sheriff’s Office says Dwight E. Cook has been charged with felony aggravated battery. The 72-year-old is being held in the Ada County Jail.
CBS2 reports an argument broke out after the couple asked Cook to put his dog on a leash, which he refused. The couple says Cook punched the man in the shoulder, shoved him down an embankment and then punched the woman in the stomach and also threw her down the embankment, deputies say.
The woman took a photo of Cook as he walked away. She then called 911.
The man received serious injuries and was admitted to the hospital and required surgery.
