Boise School Board to consider in-person learning for school year

The Boise School Board Tuesday night (8/4) is considering whether in-person learning will take place for the start of the school year, which begins Aug.17.

In reaching a decision, the Board will take into consideration guidance from medical professionals, a recommendation from Central District Health, a recommendation from the Boise School District administration, as well as oral and written public comments received.

CBS2 reports tonight’s virtual Board meeting will begin at 6:30 p.m. and can be viewed at BoiseSchools.org.

The Idaho Education Association president said earlier today that the course of action for public schools in certain areas is clear, “hot spots should remain closed.”

The Boise School District is within a said hot spot (population testing over five percent for COVID-19).
