You will not be hearing the scream of the F-35 fighter jet over the skies of Boise, after all.
Mayor Lauren McLean announced Tuesday that Boise was not selected as the preferred location for the F-35 mission.
McLean explained the Environmental Impact Statement put out by the Air Force concluded that Boise is not the right place for F-35s at this time.
McLean says she is grateful for the important work the members of the United States Military do to serve and protect our country, but is also commitment to not invest tax dollars in pushing for a new mission at Gowen Field that may have a negative impact on residents.
