Court Docs: Lori Vallow’s daughter last seen at Yellowstone with family

The 7th District Court in Madison County has released Lori Vallow’s criminal complaint, which alleges the 46-year-old mother deserted two of her children — 7-year-old Joshua “JJ” Vallow and 17-year-old Tylee Ryan.

Vallow, who’s also known as Lori Daybell, was taken into custody in Hawaii on Thursday.

CBS2 reports the documents say the last known verified whereabouts of Tylee were Sept. 8 when she was seen with family on a day trip to Yellowstone National Park.

“This photo is the last time we can find any record of T.R. being with Lori Vallow,” the documents say.

The last time JJ was verified to be seen was Sept. 23 at Kennedy Elementary School. The following day, Lori called the school to say she was pulling him and that he would be homeschooled, the complaint says.

Days earlier, the court docs say JJ was cared for by a babysitter Lori hired through Care.com. The babysitter was reportedly supposed to continue care for JJ, but when she reached out to Lori five days later, she was told that JJ “had gone (to) stay with his grandma for several weeks and that the babysitter’s services were no longer needed.”

Other details of note according to the documents:

Tylee’s debit or credit card was found with Lori and Chad Daybell while they were served search warrants in Hawaii. That card “is still active and has been used since the last sighting of Tylee.”

Rexburg Police discovered JJ had a service dog for his autism and was trained by a facility in Arizona. In July, the facility received an email asking about finding another family for the dog “due to a change in life circumstances.”

Chad told his parents that Lori was an “empty nester.”

Chad received at least $430,000 in life insurance upon the death of his wife, Tammy.

A Rexburg Police detective described Lori as a flight risk for several reasons.
