Owner of pickup truck dragged in Boise parking garage says his ride is totaled

When Paul Pacheco and his wife returned to the Boise parking garage to get some things inside his truck late Friday night they were shocked to see the commotion.

CBS2 reports Boise Police cars were everywhere. Multiple damaged vehicles. Debris was scattered all over.

It was a mess.

“We walked to where our truck was at and it’s not there,” Pacheco told CBS2. “I’m asking ‘where’s my truck, where’s my truck.'”

His first thought? It was stolen.

Boise PD says the driver of a high-performance yellow Mustang somehow got their vehicle stuck under Pacheco’s truck and ended up dragging the pickup down the parking garage.

In total, 11 vehicles were hit.

Boise Police has identified the registered owner of the vehicle, Damariea Dawkins, and described Dawkins as a person of interest in the case. As of Monday, BPD had yet to contact Dawkins.

Additional damage was found near the Boise Depot, BPD says. The Mustang was found abandoned near W. Eastover Terrace.

Pacheco says his truck was deemed totaled by an insurance adjuster.

“Luckily nobody was killed or hurt,” Pacheco said. “That’s what really surprises me.”

He says he hopes the suspect does the right thing and turns himself in to authorities.
