Treasure Valley Parents: Free classes on digital safety for your kids
St. Luke’s and the Ada County Sherriff’s Office (ACSO) are teaming up to provide free classes for parents on keeping their kids safe online.
The four-part series, “Safety in a Digital World,” begins Tuesday, Oct. 1, at St. Luke’s Eagle (3101 E. State St.), Salmon Room on the second floor. The 90-minute sessions will be held every other Tuesday (Oct. 15, 29, and Nov. 12), and will begin at 6:30 p.m.
“Even the most online-savvy among us would likely admit that the internet can be a daunting and unnerving place — for parents and kids alike,” said Nicole Carr, ACSO community relations officer. “It’s also impossible to avoid. We’d like to help parents navigate the ever-changing online world their kids are exposed to every day.”
St. Luke’s Children’s pediatrician Dr. Noreen Womack will present on screen time and brain development among youth during the Oct. 29 session.
Sessions are free. Registration is required to attend. To sign up, click here: https://www.eventbrite.com/e/safety-in-a-digital-world-online-crime-prevention-tickets-70352326703
