SE Boise Stabbing Suspect Pleads Not Guilty, Trial Date Set

 

Boise (670 KBOI News) – A trial date is set for Ruben Diaz, who’s accused of trying to kill a man working in his yard last Fall in Southeast Boise.

Diaz will be back in court October 22nd, with a trial date of October 30th.

The Idaho Press is reporting Diaz pleaded not guilty this morning, to charges he attacked Gary Vinsonhaler with a knife. He told the court he didn’t know Vinsonhaler.

At the time of the attack, he was living in the nearby Hancock House, a group home.  He was on probation for two previous stabbing convictions.

Diaz got treatment at a mental facility after being found unfit to stand trial, but has since been cleared.
