“Missing Types” C_mp_ign Reminds Pe_ple _lood Is Needed Ye_r ‘Round

Boise (670 KBOI News) – It’s summer…that means schools are out, and families are away on vacation. It also means blood donations to the American Red Cross drop off big time.

Spokesman Matt Ochsner says that’s why they’re cranking up their Missing Types campaign again.

Last summer, a number of sponsors pulled the As, Bs and Os from their advertising, and it worked.

“We’re working with both local partners, and iconic national brands, like Amazon and Google, and having them remove the As, Bs, and Os from their signage and their websites, because A, B, and O are not just letters, they’re also the major blood types,” said Ochsner.

He says the need for blood donations is constant, because every two seconds, someone in the United States needs a transfusion.
