Idaho Power Customers Will See A Rate Increase Beginning Wednesday

Wednesday is the first day that Idaho Power customers will see their rates increase.

Rates go up and down every year on June 1st for Idaho Power customers, and this year customers will see an average 3.77% increase.

Idaho Public Utilities Commission Spokesman Gene Fadness explains about how much more you will be paying, “for a residential customer who uses an average consumption of about 1,000 kw per month it’s $1.32. About $2.16 for the FCA. So, about $3.50 a month.”

Fadness says the adjustment does not effect the company’s earnings or salaries, it pays for the various power supply expenses that may have increased or decreased since last year.
