New Details Out On The Search For DeOrr

New details are out on the search for missing a 2-year-old in Lemhi County.

Investigators say someone went into the area where they were searching and scattered a family member’s ashes, but that threw off the search dogs. KBOI 2 TV reports, The Lemhi County Sheriff’s Office says scent put the dogs on the wrong trail.

DeOrr Kunz Jr went missing on July 10th while camping with his family in the Timber Creek Reservoir. He was last seen wearing a camouflage jacket, blue pajama bottoms, and cowboy boots. Police say the parents are not suspects in the disappearance, and some family members have volunteered to take polygraph tests.

Police have used search dogs, which were led investigators to the Stone Reservoir, but after days of searching the water, they found no trace of DeOrr. The Lemhi County Sheriff’s Office scaled back their search on Tuesday.

Representatives with the National Association of Missing and Exploited Children are helping out in the search for DeOrr. If you have any information you are asked to call the Idaho Fusion Center in Meridian at 208 846-7676.
