Two Kids Safe Following Idaho Amber Alert

An Amber alert for two kids, who were allegedly taken by their father from Nampa, has been cancelled. The Amber Alert was sent out Wednesday by Nampa Police. Police said the mother told the father, Joshua Reavis, that she wanted a divorce on Monday and that’s when Reavis left with the kids, 2-year-old Estaleyn Reavis and 3-year-old Slevin Reavis. The mother came home to a trashed house and couldn’t get ahold of Joshua Reavis, so she called police.

Sgt. Joe Ramirez told 670 KBOI’s Nate Shelman that they waited a few days before sending out the Amber Alert because they needed proof Reavis was not going to let the mother see their kids again. He said that was clear when they found that the kids social security cards and birth certificates were missing. “It’s against the law to do it when there is an indication that you’re planning on permanently depriving the other parent of the custody of those children. And based on the circumstances in this case, that is what we were seeing.”

At first police believed Reavis was heading to the Grimes Creek area, since the mother told them he took camping gear with him. But he was found a few hours later in Washington State in the same Gold Minivan people were asked to watch for. A semi truck driver called 911 when he noticed the minivan and followed it until police arrived. Reavis was taken into custody. Police say the two kids are safe.
