An Idaho woman has been sentenced for having a sex with a 14-year-old.
Prosecutors say in November 2014, the boy told his therapist that he was having sex with his adoptive mother, Kimberly Durlin.
The therapist then informed police, who put the boy into protective custody and arrested Durlin.
Durlin has since pleaded guilty to two counts of felony lewd conduct with a child under 16.
The Coeur d’Alene Press reports, the judge sentenced Durlin to 20 years in prison, BUT recommended she take a sex-offender treatment rider program instead. “I’m not a punishment-oriented judge,” Kootenai County District Court Judge John Mitchell told Durlin after handing down his sentence. “But I can’t abide by placing you on probation and serving a little amount of jail time.”
After Durlin spends at least 1 year in the rider program, the judge will decide whether to release her on probation or make her spend the rest of her sentencing in prison.
