An update on the Trader Joe's coming to the Treasure Valley. Permits will be issued next month for the empty lot at Capitol and Front Street in downtown Boise. George Iliff (eye-lihf) of Colliers International, this week's NNU Business Of The Week, says ALL of the construction in downtown Boise signals more to come, "To me it's really a precursor of growth and an indication that the Boise market has tipped, if you will, in terms of being now a community that other high-end or high visibility retailers are now looking at." On another subject, Iliff said the Zion's Bank building going up at 8th and Main in downtown Boise is nearly 80-percent pre-leased with rent going for 20% above-market. Iliff says the steel will be finished next month and the "skin" will be put on afterward. The building is scheduled to be completed in February of 2014.
