Meridian man arrested after ramming ISP vehicles

A Meridian man is in custody after investigators say he ran into two Idaho State Police vehicles.

Idaho State Police says law enforcement responded to a crash off of the Curtis Exit on I-184 around 11:20 Monday morning. One of the vehicles left, and a sergeant with the Idaho State Police tried to track down the driver.

In the afternoon, the sergeant and another Idaho State Police trooper found the suspect, Jesse Pina. That’s when troopers say Pina rammed into the sergeant’s patrol car, and backed into another trooper’s patrol car as he was trying to get away. Neither of them were hurt.

At one point, troopers tried to use a taser and police dog, but because of the situation and location, they weren’t able to get the man to stop.

Troopers eventually caught up with Pina in North Boise near Pierce Park.

He was booked into the Ada County Jail on three felony counts of aggravated assault, as well as several other charges.
