Boise River float route cleanup event along the Boise Greenbelt October 26th

Idaho Public Land Conservation Group, 43rd Exposure, is scheduled to host a Boise River float route cleanup event along the Boise Greenbelt.

What: Boise-based public land conservation group, 43rd Exposure, will host a Boise River cleanup focused on the summer float route spanning from Barber Park to Ann Morrison Park. The event will feature food for volunteers and opportunities for volunteers to win prizes.

Why: Each year Boise’s citizens look forward to their inaugural river float. Unfortunately, many who float the river fail to properly collect their trash at the end of their excursions, leaving cans, wrappers, shoes, inflatables and more behind. While Ada County Parks and Waterways puts forth a dedicated effort to remove this refuse, it’s nearly impossible to provide a thorough sweep of the river, banks and walkways. Event organizers hope to gather the majority of trash that remains since the ACPW’s final debris float on September 9, 2019.

When:

* Saturday, October 26, 2019
* Volunteer registration will begin at 11:30 a.m.
* Cleanup will take place from noon to 3:00 p.m.
* Volunteer raffle at 3:30 p.m.
* Volunteer social including food and a food truck from 3:30 p.m. – 7:00 p.m.

Where:  Registration, cleanup start and finish, and the volunteer raffle and social will be at Payette Brewing Company, 733 S. Pioneer St., Boise, Idaho, 83702.

Who: The event is open to the public.

Additional Information: This event will take place rain or shine. Sanitary gloves, garbage bags and water will be provided to volunteers. Attendees who intend to purchase alcohol from Payette Brewing must be 21 years or older with valid I.D. Parking is available on site.
