Eagle Community Conversations will present a forum for Eagle Mayoral and City Council Candidates at Eagle Public Library

A newly-formed group called Eagle Community Conversations will present a forum for Eagle Mayoral and City Council Candidates, at Eagle Public Library on Thursday, October 17 from 5:30-8:00 p.m. Participants will include mayoral candidates Stan Ridgeway (incumbent) and Christopher Hadden; and city council candidates Jill Mitchell and Stan Bastian (incumbents) and Dave Parrie. Candidates Jason Pierce, Brad Pike, and Charlie Baun were invited but unable to attend.

The Eagle Public Library large meeting room, where the event is being held, will open at 5:30 p.m. to offer citizens the opportunity to meet and visit with the candidates prior to the start of the forum. The forum will begin promptly at 6:00 and run until 8:00 p.m.

Each of the five candidates will be asked to respond to questions on important issues facing Eagle, particularly related to the community’s rapid growth in recent decades and how the candidates envision Eagle’s future. Questions will address issues such as growth, roads, schools, water, open space, development and annexation.

Dr. Jaap Vos, head of the Bioregional Planning and Community Design program at the University of Idaho College of Art and Architecture, and director of the UI Boise Urban Design Center has very generously offered to moderate the forum. As part of his role as director of the Boise Urban Design Center, Dr. Vos will develop community engagement initiatives and foster industry connectivity within Boise’s creative economy.

This is the inaugural event for Eagle Community Conversations, a new group for Eagle citizens committed to civil discourse. The group plans to host opportunities for Eagle residents to meet as neighbors and discuss their common interests and community concerns in the coming months.

The forum is free and open to the public, but space is limited so please arrive early.
The forum will start promptly at 6:00 p.m.
