JESSE TREE OUTREACH SERVICES NOW AT MAIN LIBRARY

Boise Public Library has partnered with Jesse Tree to offer crisis counseling services to households experiencing financial hardship and facing eviction. Each month, Kyle Young, a Licensed Master Social Worker from Jesse Tree will be available at the Main Library to discuss their rental assistance program and provide additional resources for achieving long-term stability.

“The library offers a myriad of resources to community members who need it most,” said library director, Kevin Booe. “From financial literacy and job skills training to connecting people with organizations like Jesse Tree, part of our mission is to help people create a better quality of life.”

Kyle joined Jesse Tree in 2019 to fulfill his passion for ending homelessness in the Treasure Valley. Previously, Kyle served as the Outreach Coordinator with New Path Community Housing, conducted case management and housing navigation in Ada County for Our Path Home, and worked with Assertive Community Treatment Team to help treat people with co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders.

“This is a perfect partnership,” said Jesse Tree’s executive director, Ali Rabe. “The library is a hub for community members from all walks of life, and this will allow us to extend critical services to people who need them outside of regular office and hours.”

Services are available on the fourth Tuesday of each month from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Main Library starting September 24th.
