A 48-year-old Boise pastor is accused of sexually abusing a 15-year-old girl.
The Boise Police Department says earlier this month, officers were called out to a home at about 1 a.m. for a report of sexual abuse that occurred inside the Boise home.
CBS 2 reports that according to court records, the victim was staying at Bret Welty’s home after her family believed she needed help dealing with anxiety.
It was then, that Welty came into her room and started to sexually assault her.
The alleged assault was interrupted by the suspect’s wife.
After an investigation, Boise Police arrested Welty for sexual abuse of a child under the age of 16.
According to court records, Welty is a pastor for Hard Rock Revival Church.
Prosecutors say Welty also spent 20 years with Calvary Chapel Church.
His next scheduled court appearance is Sept. 29.
