Star Middle School Principal Still on Paid Administrative Leave

 

The Star Middle School principal facing felony injury to a child charges is still on paid administrative leave as school gets ready to start.

Tony Nelson faces two counts of injury to a child; his wife, Pamela Nelson faces three counts.

In May, a grand jury indicted them on those charges, allowing the cases to move forward.

The Idaho Press reports, Tyler Pence will serve as principal until the criminal case against Nelson is resolved.

Pamela Nelson is scheduled to appear in court Monday for a pretrial conference. Her trial is set to begin Sept. 17. Tony Nelson’s case is scheduled for a motion hearing Aug. 26. His trial is scheduled for Oct. 15.
