Fruitland High School Principal Mike Fitch resigned his position Thursday afternoon according to the Fruitland School District Superintendent Teresa Fabricius.

Fitch was charged in February of sexual battery of a co-worker and offering her money in exchange for sex at the school.

Superintendent Teresa Fabricius said the resignation allows the district to move forward with the search for the school’s new leader and the job will be posted immediately.

Mike Fitch was charged with three misdemeanors with two counts of sexual battery and one count of patronizing a prostitute.

CBS 2 News reports, he’s scheduled for a pre-trial hearing on May, 3rd.
