Wife of Middleton Mayor Darin Taylor asks judge to lift no-contact order

The wife of Middleton Mayor Darin Taylor is asking a judge to lift a no-contact order against him.

Darin Taylor pleaded not guilty to misdemeanor domestic battery, stemming from allegations he grabbed his wife’s arm during a dispute March 2nd.

The Idaho Press reports, Taylor’s wife filed a motion to terminate the no-contact order.

The hearing to rescind the no-contact order was continued in the Canyon County Courthouse.

On March 6, Middleton City Council unanimously took a vote of no confidence, requesting Taylor’s immediate resignation.

Despite that request, Taylor, who is in his second term, has continued work as mayor. Darin Taylor’s next court appearance is scheduled for April 25. His seat is up for re-election in November, and Taylor told the Idaho Press he won’t run again.
