Boise (670 KBOI News) – It’s that time of year, when river flows are increased to start dealing with the melt off in the mountains.
According to CBS-2 TV, starting today, the US Army Corps of Engineers will step up flows on the Boise River even higher than they planned, from just below 1,700 cubic feet per second, to nearly 2,200 CFS.
The Corps began releasing water from Lucky Peak Reservoir last week, bumping the flow from 280 CFS to just below 1,700.
But putting it in perspective, that’s nothing compared to March of 2017, when flows were over 7,000 CFS, to deal with the melt off from that huge snowpack.
