Suspected package thief arrested

A woman was arrested Wednesday after police began searching for her in December for package theft on the Boise Bench.

Police arrested Jennifer Hays on burglary, drug and theft charges.

Boise and Meridian Police officers found Hays in the area of Ten Mile and McMillan and she was taken into custody during a traffic stop.

CBS 2 News reports, a K9 alerted on the car and a search revealed drug paraphernalia.

Officers also found two large sets of bolt cutters and other evidence linking the Hays to recent burglaries.

Officers had evidence, such as security video, linking Hays to multiple package and mailbox thefts after they discovered multiple delivery boxes discarded at a Boise business.

According to police, the boxes had been stolen from multiple homes on the Boise bench.
