Idaho PUC Announces Deadline to Intervene in Possible Sale of Eagle Water Co.

Eagle (670 KBOI News) – The Idaho Public Utilities Commission is setting a deadline for anyone who wants to intervene in the possible sale of Eagle Water Company to French water company Suez.

Matt Evans with the PUC says intervening is when an interested party hires an attorney, presents evidence, and does cross examination of a process.

But if you just want to give your two cents, it’s not that complicated.

“The deadline to intervene is December 28th, but if they don’t want to hire an attorney, or go through the intervention process, they’re welcome to submit comments,” said Evans.  “They can go to our website, there’s case comment links all over the place.  They can use that to submit their comments.”

Evans stresses the proposed sale is in its very early stages now, and probably won’t happen for months…if it’s approved.

Suez bought Boise’s United Water in 2000…it officially changed the name of the company to Suez in 2015.
