Two Chileans, One Californian Busted Trying to Make Purchases with Stolen Credit Cards

Boise (670 KBOI News) – Two foreigners and one man from California are in the Ada County jail, charged with Grand Theft and Burglary, for using stolen credit cards to try to buy merchandise from a Boise store.

Boise Police say the men broke into a car early Monday and stole the credit cards. They’re identified as Walter Aguilera and Rodolfo Espinosa, of Santiago Chile, and Byron Espinoza, of Palmdale California.

They’re accused of trying to buy merchandise from a store on the 8300 block of West Franklin…Best Buy and TJ Maxx, as well as other stores, are at that address.

Police say the suspects went into the store and asked for the most expensive items they had in stock…but weren’t able to specify what they were looking for.  They had reportedly tried the same thing at other nearby businesses.  A store employee called the police, who began investigating.

Several more stolen cards were found in their rented car, and police think they made other illegal purchases in Utah.

Aguilera and Espinosa were booked on felony Burglary charges, and Espinoza is charged with Felony Burglary and Grand Theft.  All three have federal holds, and are not eligible for bail.
