Man arrested with over 100 pounds of marijuana in car

A Missouri man remains in the Ada County Jail on a $200,000 bail after police say they found more than 100 pounds of marijuana in his car during a traffic stop on Interstate 84.

Ada County Sheriff’s deputies pulled over James Reed, after they saw him make multiple lane changes driving east on the highway in a GMC Yukon without using a turn signal.

According to the Idaho Press, Reed told the deputy he was transporting some household items in boxes from Seattle back to Missouri.

During the conversation between Reed and the deputy, a police dog alerted the deputy to the presence of drugs in the Yukon. Inside seven large cardboard boxes, the deputy found several vacuum-sealed bags of marijuana. Altogether, police found 117 pounds of the drug in Reed’s car, according to the sheriff’s office.
