Water Main Break Causes Flooding and Street Closures

A water main break on the Boise State campus is forcing some road closures.

Sunday evening, Boise State Communications released a statement saying a water line broke near the intersection of University Drive and Lincoln Avenue. The water main break caused flooding in nearby roadways and parking lots. A sinkhole also formed due to the flood, damaging the roadway.

The university is recommending traffic uses detour routes, rather than go through campus. There may be some restroom and food service closures in the Student Union Building on Monday, Aug. 6, due to the water line break.

CBS 2 News reports, SUEZ Water is on scene working to remedy the problem.
