Police Investigate Accidental Shooting in Nampa

A woman was injured in an accidental shooting outside of her residence Friday evening.

The shooting took place around 9:30 p.m. in the 500 block of 17th Avenue South in Nampa.

The woman was standing in her front yard when she was hit in the chest by a single gunshot. The shot had come from a residence across the street.

The Idaho Press reports, a man was identified as the accidental shooter, the injury a result of unsafe use of a firearm. The bullet had gone through a wall of the house before hitting the woman.

According to the NPD the woman is suffering from very serious injuries which are possibly life threatening.

The accidental shooting is currently under investigation and charges have not yet been filed.
