Band Shell in Julia Davis Park Damaged by Fire

Boise firefighters responded to a fire at the Gene Harris bandshell located in Julia Davis Park in Boise.

The fire was reported shortly after 8 pm.

When crews arrived they found fire burning up the exterior wall and into the attic of the building.

After assessing the structure, Boise Fire tells KBOI-2-TV that the fire was not as extensive as they thought and are hopeful the structure will be able to be saved.

Boise Fire also had to battle the debris flying from the building and they asked that the public stay away from the area.

At this time the cause of the fire is unknown and no one was hurt.

The bandshell was built in the 1920’s and serves as a concert venue for the public in the summertime.
