Group Nears Goal of Getting Medicaid Expansion on November Ballot

Boise (670 KBOI News) – A group called Reclaim Idaho is asking for volunteers to help them reach their goal of getting an initiative placed on the November ballot to expand Medicaid coverage in Idaho.

The 2018 legislature twice refused to give a Medicaid expansion bill a floor vote, so Reclaim Idaho wants to put it in front of the voters.

Spokeswoman Sam Sandmire says they’re close to the goal line, but have only one month to do to get there.

“We have gathered an estimated 40,000 valid signatures, and we need a total of 56,192 signature statewide,” said Sandmire.  “We also need 6% of registered voters in 18 different districts.”

The need volunteers to go door-to-door to collect signatures. For more information, click here to go to the group’s website.
