A mountain lion spent a portion of the morning in a tree on Bruneau Elementary School grounds and was later shot and killed.
The cat was spotted at about 8:00 a.m. Wednesday and the school immediately went into lock down. The Fish and Game Office in Nampa was immediately contacted.
The cat remained in the area after it jumped off the tree and left school grounds. The cat was then spotted less-than half a mile from the school at around 10:30 a.m..
KBOI-2-TV reports, the control action was warranted given the location and behavior of the cat.
